Chapter 1: BeginningsUsername: Duss Name: Mika Barish Age: 27 Race: Desert Elf Gender: Female Alliance: Pro Magic Race Description: Camel ears and dark tan skin. Short hair, often bright yellow; otherwise they look like humans. They range from 5'3" to 5'10" and often don't weigh more than 160lbs. Only blue eyes have been seen on desert elves. They can live to about two hundred. They're origins are unknown but they're native to Balefall. They're presence seems to be non-existent on the desert; there are no standing structures they've built since they live in tents and on caravans. Their history is well-kept but harshly guarded. No other species is permitted to learn their native tongue and no other species is permitted to read their tomes. What we know of desert elves, we know only from inference and what little they've told. They're strict secrecy on their culture doesn't imply they are isolationists, however. They're very welcoming of travelers at their caravans and incredibly hospitable to others. They trade with anyone who will take them and freely walk the streets of human cities in Balefall without qualm. Desert elves are incredibly intelligent creatures but aren't interested much in magic. While many magi in the college are elven, as a species, they care little. Appearance: Mika stands around 5’4” and weighs 130lbs. She has the normal short, bright yellow hair and blue eyes of her race and has a scar running from her nose to her right ear. Clothing Clothing, goggles. Personality: Mika is a happy fellow. She’s normally fairly joyous and smiles are from hier as light from the sun. She would prefer to keep to herself but is not opposed to company. History: Mika was born in Sadris and had a quiet childhood. She was sent to study at the college upon age, which was fifteen, but failed out because of her seeming lack of magic. She became determined to prove them all wrong, but she became distracted. Legends of the Foreborns and their wondrous creations captivated her, and she set out, instead, to create her own tech, her own wonder. Wonder that wasn’t so far away and almost fictional. The mages, of course, were wrong about Mika, though. She had magic inside her, but it only came in uncontrollable bursts. One day, in an abandoned workshop she’d commandeered, that magic exploded from her. When she woke up from the concussive force it had released, she found that a metal beast was sitting by her side. It, he, was crafted from spare metals she had laying around the shop. Terrified at the beast, which she thought had come to kill her, she struck out, but when it did not return, it even looked a bit sad, she realized that she had done this, and it was her’s. And so, she and her Golem travel about the world, idling and doing little productive, exploring. She's been learning to control her magical bursts, and sometimes can even summon them. Weapons: Scimitar, knife, wrench. Likes: Tech, magic, Rusty, people. Dislikes: War, cruelty. Strengths: Mika is an intelligent woman, and tinkers with many objects to the point where she could rival the foreborn. Weaknesses: Mika believes in the goodness of man, to her downfall. Themesong: The Whip by Locksley Other: -Has a magical affinity, but is inexperienced in it, and has little control, though she is learning to control it. It comes in bursts rather than a constant presence, and rarely she can summon such bursts.
Username: Duss Name: Rusty Age: 4 Race: Golem Gender: Indefinite, referred to as a male. Alliance: Pro Magic Race Description: Golems, similar to atronachs, are man made creatures. They resemble man in form but not in detail. Golems can be created from a variety of materials, such as water, stone, metal, ice, and sand/clay. They come into existence when a master mage meditates with an element for days on end, expending most of their energy. They are semi-intelligent and are loyal to their creator, and upon creation the two souls become interlocked. If the creator perishes, as will the golem. Often times, they are ordered to a location, to patrol and defend it from obvious threats. The first golems were created in Sandris to fend off dragons, and were great beasts, the size of cities. Their remains lay strewn across the land. Governments discourage the commercial creation of golems, and there are few mages that know quite how to make one. The last giant golem - made of clay - stands outside Sadris, guarding the city and the knowledge it contains. Smaller versions of the creatures still exist. Every now and again a mage will accidentally make one, and the colleges often produce them and send them across the land to allied cities with defensive orders. They are not banned in any province, but cities vary on their views. Appearance: Rusty, he stand nine feet tall and measures proportionally to a man. Clothing: N/A Personality: At first glance, one might dismiss Rusty as a none thinking beast of burden, but he’s very sweet, and has a soft spot that’s easily coaxed out. He is, however, protective of others and is guided through his existence by the purest of morals. History: Rusty was born in Mika’s workshop in a magical explosion that emanated from her. He’s been her guardian since. Weapons: He’s a walking weapon. Likes: Mika, flowers, children, peace. Dislikes: Anyone who hurts Mika, needless violence. Strengths: Physically, can match a dragon in combat. Weaknesses: While Rusty is sentient and smart, he is simple, and is emotional. Username: Duss Name: Charlie McDoughy Age: 19 Race: Human Gender: Male Alliance: Nuetral Race Description: Standing at an average of 5'9" for males and slightly less for females, humans are creatures that populate most of the world as a whole. They are not often inherently born with the ability to bend magic a great amount, but they are exceedingly adaptable creatures that are diverse and able to choose many walks of life. Humans may be magi, soldiers, guards, slaves, harlots, average citizens, or even royals. The list doesn't stop there! Humans are not always beautiful or ugly, but their mass personality is often ugly. They are known to be quite easily corrupted by power and many are sadistic, even if only secretly or only a bit. Humans should be approached with due caution. If they are offered enough of a resource they wish to have more of, it is likely that they will serve alright for most jobs. Appearance: Charlie hails from The Barren, and as such is pale with brown hair and green eyes. His face is freckled and he’s short for a male, he only stands at 5’5”. His frame is slender and he’s built for stealth rather than brawn. Clothing On the Right (vague, I know) Personality: Charlie is friendly and quiet. He prefers to follow rather than lead and would stay out of others’ ways than blaze his own. His passions burn deeply, but secretly. History: Charlie is the son of an ambassador and as such is familiar with all the provinces and their cultures. He speaks most languages fluently as is required of a future ambassador. He, however, decided that life wasn’t for him and left home. He doesn’t’ have a direction and works odd jobs as he sees fit to survive, looking for somewhere to settle down. Weapons: Crossbow, long sword. Likes: Women, quiet, freedom, proper justice. Dislikes: Confrontation, leading, alcohol, crime, abuse. Strengths: He’s quick on his feet and fast in a fight. His marksmanship is good, but not perfect. Weaknesses: Charlie isn’t strong and can be bested in sheer strength easily.
